A Brother's War
The Civil War is often called a "Brother's War", but what does that mean? In our first episode we explain what we believe the true meaning of A "Brother's War" is.
SHOW NOTES:
Army Organization:
RECRUIT- an individual soldier
COMPANY -100 men from a local region or town led by a Captain
REGIMENT- usually 10 companies organized by a state led by a Colonel
BRIGADE- 3-5 Regiments joined together led by a Brigadier General
DIVISION- 2-4 Brigades organized together led by a Brigadier General
CORPS- Semi autonomous "mini" army with all arms of service led by a Major General
ARMY- divisions (CSA) or Corps (USA) organized and functioning together. We are talking mainly about the Army of Northern Virginia (CSA) and the Army of the Potomac (USA)
